This is me, working on a grizzly potty seat...they make great conversation pieces when you have a jury of potty seats set up at a festival, bull dog, lamb, frog, hippo, moose and bears!  I am orginally from Jacksonville, Florida, moved to Bristol, Pa. for a brief time and then moved to Fort Lauderdale, Fl. with my parents, where i finished school and attended two years of college. My hopes were to go to an art college and maybe work for Disney, but that never happened.  IA few years ago I moved up here with two of my children and I found true peace here in the mountains. A great place fo any artist.

Recently, I moved my parents up here to be the care giver of my mother who was ill with ovarian cancer. This was a difficult time for all of us, but i can honestly say it was a time to be grateful. We gave her every ounce of love, support and patience and we were thankful that she left us surrounded by our love in our home. My children, my father and i miss her darely, but she lives in our hearts and all around our home is a touch of my mother. While my mother was here, she encouraged me to continue to paint, many times she would sit quietly next to me and watch a drawing come to life and every once in a while she would request a flower, a bear, a bird or just sit and smile. I thank God everyday for allowing us to have her and to be there for her. My mother and me, oh yes and my dog "Boy" who won't leave my side.My 50th birthday, my mother and me and my dog "Boy"

A small mural I painted in a little girls room, the mother loved pink and flowers and the father is a "large mouth bass fisherman", so we compromised.  Everyone was happy.

You are probably wondering where does "Moonshine Mountain Art" come into this, well it has nothing to do with homemade "moonshine", never tried it, it has to do with the painting of a baby bull named Moonshine that I met at a show, and it is more catching at shows to enter a booth called "Moonshine".  I liked that name, so do many other artists up here, there is moonshine soap, moonshine therapy, etc., well now there is "Moonshine Mountain Art".
We can personalize a child's room with a  mural of their own (shown at the top) or have their name painted on canvas or on wood, such as my sons name is "Joey" and i painted his name in rocks with a large mouth bass jumping out of the water.

The quality of our work makes us a great choice for you to decorate your home.   At art shows our booth attract more visitors then most, due to the originality of it as well as the bright colors. Special orders preferred

1. Children's names on canvas.

2. Outside welcome sign.

3. Outside trout for the cabin on a creek.

We live in the north Georgia mountains where wild life and beauty are abundant. Being around this has inspired me to paint.
These are more four legged babies, they protect me, love me, keep me company, sometimes crowd me and bring me a great deal of joy. Anyway, many times when i paint in my tiny shed they are there by my side, i may have to step over them, but they are there.

I first look for a fine piece of wood with knots.  Why knots?  Well many times I use the knots in the wood as eyes of the animals, or knots in a tree or the heart of a sunflower, and each time one is used and found it becomes a conversation piece.

Then I draw on the wood and cut it out with a band saw, then sand it as smooth as I can and all the while inside my head a painting is being created.
